About

I am an illustrator and writer based in Madison, Wisconsin. I am open to illustration commissions, and also develop my own projects as a writer-illustrator.

I work primarily in pen and ink, but I have experience in a wide variety of media including silk screen and relief printing.

In my work, I often respond to and reinterpret the imagery of illuminated manuscripts, medieval woodcuts, and early modern engravings. I am particularly interested in combining linear, textual narratives with the non-linear narratives of the illustrated page.

Daughters of Beulah! Muses who inspire the Poets Song

Record the journey of immortal Milton thro’ your Realms

Of terror & mild moony lustre, in soft sexual delusions

Of varied beauty, to delight the wanderer and repose

His burning thirst and freezing hunger! Come into my hand

By your mild power: descending down the Nerves of my right arm

From out the Portals of my Brain, where by your ministry

The Eternal Great Humanity Divine planted his Paradise

And in it caus’d the Spectres of the Dead to take sweet forms

In likeness of himself.

                                         -William Blake, Milton
